    Gateway Village is a visionary privately owned, resort style development which will revitalize Bragg Creek Hamlet Core hit hard by the 2013 floods. Since the floods the Province and Rocky View County (RVC) have built the flood mitigation dyke, paving the way for a more resilient Core area.

    Gateway Village will consist of three key Villages:

    • Commercial Village will include revival of the legacy Steak Pit Restaurant and Redevelopment of the existing Old West Mall on Balsam Avenue adding a total of 2400 sqm of retail commercial and approximately 30 rental units on top intended for staff housing;
    • Hospitality Village, including the Wakesiah Lodge along the river front, a 120-room boutique hotel, conference, health & wellness centre and spa with the intent of making Bragg Creek an overnight destination; and
    • Residential Village, including 140 condominium and townhouse units, which will fill the gap for much-needed downtown housing for seniors and youth. The three Villages will be connected with an inviting open space system that meanders through the development connecting the existing shopping area to the riverfront with a comprehensive pathway system.

    PlanningPlus played a key role in approval of the Master Site Development Plan (MSDP) and Land Use Redesignation by RVC Council in May 2021.
