Section23’s Rangeview is an award-winning, Calgary’s first Garden-to-Table development which embraces Agricultural Urbanism planning principles and celebrates an enduring farming and ranching legacy of the Ollerenshaw family that began in 1923.
The 320-acre development consists of two walkable neighbourhoods, a mixed-use Activity Centre Street and a comprehensive open space system. The garden-to-table concept is delivered through three squares and an east-west greenway.
PlanningPlus personnel Bela Syal was involved in the preparation of Rangeview Area Structure Plan and Rangeview Business Case. Bela Syal led the Outline Plan and Land Use which involved negotiation on innovative elements to integrate local food growing areas. The Plan was approved in December 2018. The development of the community is well underway and was named the Best New Community by BILD CR in 2025.
