Located in the east quadrant of Calgary, the 152-acre residential neighbourhood of Liberty symbolizes the diversity that characterizes the East sector of Calgary and by extension International Avenue.
The key features of the plan are:
- the 40-acre Eco-Sensitive, Multifunctional Liberty Park, including the stormwater facility and crown claimed wetland complex;
- a range of housing types for a range of socio-economic demographic groups;
- multimodal connectivity through a network of streets, green corridor, local & regional pathways; and
- careful attention to the street interface along Memorial Drive and 84 Street to create more livable streets.
At build-out, Liberty will accommodate 1,400 units and 3,700 people. PlanningPlus did the visioning for the neighbourhood design and project management and planning to ensure successful approval of Outline Plan and Land Use for Stages 1 & 2 in 2023 & 2024 respectively.
